Notes:
A rare variety of this date is sometimes found with a ridge of raised fur lines running from the arch of the back to the neck. This variety is probably the product of an experimental die tested or supplied by the Melbourne Mint and may number as few as 50,000. However, we have decided not to separate it from the general population, because this date is perhaps the most poorly struck in the series, and in most cases it would be almost impossible to distinguish.
